The Busy City

BUSY Beijing is a busy city ― this is the image this international city gives me. As a university student, a freshman, I am indeed surrounded by such an environment.

Though it is not long since I entered this university, I find so many posters pouring into my sight and so much information covering the bulletin board that I can"t decide how to deal with them. Things of all kinds, like lectures and notices, attract the attention the students like me. Posters about ceremonial ladies, merchandise promotion and tutors are interesting, I think. There are students who are eager to get a part-time work for various reasons.

After lessons at noon, I see everyone is busy walking to his or her destination which may be the dining room, the library, the computer center or somewhere else. I guess they are not freshmen, because they know what to do but we don"t.

When I go to the playground, to my surprise, lots of people are doing exercise. Even some tired teachers are engaged in running or walking. Here I feel as if I were an old person who is enjoying life, while they are young people who spare no time to chase their dreams. This makes me feel some pressure. I think this big environment of Beijing makes people in my school busy running after their dreams and improving their health.

When I go out by bike, the slowest bike-rider is me. When I take a trip to a farther places by the subway, I am always crowded back, often out of the large group of people. They do it forever even if there are enough seats for everybody to take one in the subway cars.

The other day, one of my roommates unluckily lost her cell phone, and the six of us in my dormitory went with her to buy a new one in Zhongguancun. On our way to one of the markets there, we were repeatedly stopped by some enthusiastic clerks, pulling us into their shops, saying how worthy it would be if we bought a cell phone of their theirs. Maybe only in the zoo can I find some ease and leisure.

I will be likely to act in this way soon. I’m sure I will adapt myself to the new environment.

Beijing is a small world, a fast developing small world. Here you can see people from all over the world who are busy taking advantage of the good opportunities the Chinese capital presents. The competition is fierce here. And the city is busy developing itself. However, this kind of busyness will surely bring everyone a feeling of fulfillment and achievement. Busy as it is, Beijing is still a beautiful and lovely city.

Beijing is a busy city. People from all over the world assemble here. Some of them are working here, such as doing business or teaching, some others are coming over for study...

What makes the busy city?

As is known to all, the greatest honor for Beijing at present is that Beijing is going to hold the Olympics 2008. The grand celebration of the whole world attracts a lot of different people from every corner of other parts of the world. It brings business opportunities, brings passion, brings more culture communication, brings groups of people, brings excitement and prosperity.

So, let us all bless Beijing and expect for the great grand glory Beijing 2008!
